Muslims and Jews, If pork is unclean then why did God/Allah create pigs?

Presumably to keep unbelievers off the holy food. Seriously, these prohibitions are often historically valid rules of hygiene which are no longer valid but which have become articles of faith with no purpose other than shared rituals for a membership group.

First a broad comment to the logic of your question

Why do you presume that a given creation is for eating??

There are quite a few plants and some animals which are outright poisonous to people.

the term "unclean" is an English religious term developed in Christian translations of the Bible.

It is Jewishly irrelevant.

There is nothing wrong with pigs.

But -- Jews were given a job at the covenant (contract) at Sinai to be

"a kingdom of priests"

Part of the priestly restrictions that were in that contract was to refrain from a substantial number of possible meat sources including

pigs, rabbits, horses, vultures, dogs, cats, roaches, camels ...etc.

If non-Jews want to eat these -- no judgement from us.

It isn't. God set the Jews apart by certain things they cannot do only so that the world would see them as different and of God. As soon as Christ died, those ways were obsolete and there were no longer any dietary restrictions. Mohammed could not read or write, so he did not know why Jews could not eat swine and incorporated it into his religion, not knowing the source of why God used it.

G_d also created volcanos, but you wouldn't jump into one. G_d didn't create mankind and then build around or for them. G_d created the world and then placed mankind their. We were chosen to protect his/her creations, regardless of their usefulness or danger to our own lives. Jews may not eat pork, but we still respect the pig as a creation and as another life form.

It says right in the Quran that an unmarried Muslim is allowed to "release his lust" with a pig.
