I am currently living with my boyfriends family and we are currently trying to find a place to call ours but we both feel as if renting is a waste of money. We both have credit scores of about 700. Im working 2 part time jobs and he is working 1 full time. We are wanting to buy an $80,000 manufactured home in the town ill be attending college. My one question is, is it do able?

Absolutely WORST thing u / he can do.

    Financially Legally Emotionally.

    Skip it Simple.

    Go get 1bed/bath apartment.

Don't get urself/him sold in to Decades of Debts payments slavery.

Neither of u know enough about the reality of house ownership mortgage.

Keep renting while you get real world education.

Renting is best for u/him NOW.

When you graduate and figure out what state you b working, after 1 - 2 yrs then you b informed enough to buy and STAY.

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING THAT IS HOLY, DO NOT DO IT!!!!! You're 19, you're not even married yet. It will likely take both of your names to be on the mortgage application in order to be approved. Then both of your names will be on the deed to the house, as well as the property. Then what happens when you break up?!?! You're asking for a huge, messy, expensive legal battle. As long as you're not married, just stay renting.

You could, but buying a house is not that easy. I almost didn't get my mortgage approved when I was about to buy my house.

This is only going to be worth doing if you are sure that you will be going to continue to work in the area that you go to college. If not and you think you might want to move for work it is better to rent.

Don't see why not, many do, you just need to make sure the figures stack up...income , saving deposit and costs.........1st house I purchased was when I was 19yrs old

how much do you have saved for a downpayment, go in to the bank and ask them how much you can borrow. remember, if you aren't working, your bf will have to pay the bills
