    Most likely.

    People are just trying to survive now..It's like humanity took a step back a few hundred years..

    It's all about survival, growing food, protecting each other.

    Plus less people in the world means nature has a better chance of re-claiming space.

    Yes, the entire Universe is build on a dynamic that if 1 thing isn't in a place, something else is(there's literally nothing 'empty/open' in the Universe). A guy on reddit calculated that in The Walking Dead the human population is as small as 300,000. So nature has every opportunity to take back what we took.
