Do I need to file tax if I work part time and earn very little?
In short, I worked from February 2016 to March 2016, earning about 500 dollars through my university. Do I need to file tax and how do I do it? Turbotax?

that depends on the income
if this is something you got a W-2 reporting the amount, it also reported the amount of income tax that was withheld and you would want to file a tax return to get that refunded to you since you likely incur no income tax on the small amount you mention
now if this is self employment income, yes it is likely you do have to report it on Sch C and possibly if the net amount is more than $400, the se tax you will pay

Visit IRS GOV or libraries for books on how to file ur taxes.
Ask local informed educated adults for actual info locally as it varies greatly.

If that's your ONLY income for the year, no. If any income tax was withheld, you should. But 2016 income tax returns cannot be filed until NEXT year.

If $400 or more was working as an independent contractor or in self-employment, or a combination of the two, then yes.
If all of it was working as an employee, then no.
