The Brussels attacks did not help the IN campaigners much. The EU has hit rock bottom long ago but now it gets more dangerous by the day. There is nothing for the UK within the EU, it's a dying economy, a nuissance and an unelected regime. No matter what the BBC says, I have never met a single Briton if favour of a federal Europe. The closest to "eurofriendly" they get is to agree being solely in a trading bloc, which is nothing the EU is about. GO BREXIT!

Unlikely, as so many Britons benefit directly and indirectly from membership. Those who favour remaining point to the fact that it costs the UK less than £250.00 per household per year to belong to the EU whilst the UK gets back over £2,000.00 per household per year in trade and other benefits (https://fullfact.org/). Any foreseeable deal with the EU as an outsider would never match that return on investment.
On a personal level, two million UK citizens now live in other EU countries. Leaving the EU would cut off the automatic right to apply for the kinds of jobs that many of these people are doing. The horizons of future generations would be limited to the UK except for those prepared to fight through a mass of paperwork to beg for the permission to work in EU countries, the right to work there would be lost. In addition to those two million, there are certainly hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, who have lived and worked in other EU countries at some point of their lives. Many of these will be in receipt of pensions from other EU countries; and many will have relatives — spouses, children, brothers- and sisters-in-law, sons- and daughters-in-law who are nationals of other EU countries and are often resident in those countries. It is membership of the EU which opens these literally life-changing opportunities to everyone in the UK and which enriches both British life and the life of other European countries. It is hard to see any advantage in denying future generations the chance to enjoy these opportunities.
Inside the EU, the UK can influence the development of the Union to its advantage and steer it towards ever more advantageous policies. Just as important, the EU can look the USA, Russia, China and India in the eye and negotiate with them as an equal who must be taken seriously. On its own, the UK will still have its history but its present would be devoid of influence. Particularly so, as Scotland is very likely to leave the UK in order to rejoin the EU if the UK votes to leave. For more, read this: http://www.economist.com/blogs/graphicde...
A disproportionate number of 'out' campaigners seem to base their opinions on a narrow group of issues which do not take into account the wide spread of benefits of membership. Of course the EU is imperfect, it is very young — it took Switzerland more than three centuries to reach its fully developed form as a functioning confederation — and it has a long way to go. As the referendum campaign goes on, I would expect the appreciation of the value that can be gained by working within the EU progressively to outweigh the frustration at the short-term annoyances which are bound to be part of developing a project of this kind. To leave would seem to me to be a perfect example of throwing out the baby with the bathwater. The long-term and global-view position must be to stay in. Overall, people will come to see this and the UK will be highly unlikely to leave.
