Do you prefer ebooks or physical books? Why?

I used to prefer paper books. The ebooks were just writing on a screen and I didn't like that. The early Kindles and such were no different than reading a computer monitor and I didn't like that. Then Apple came out with their iBook application. The user interface was very similar visually and functionally, like a real book. You even saw the page turn. It was a 'paper page'. For some reason...I'm sure it was purely psychological...that made all the difference to me. I loved the iBook. But when my iPad died, I got a Samsung with the Android operating system. It isn't the iBook look and feel, but I think the iBook broke me of that psychological need and so now I don't mind the Kindle interface and much prefer the electronic books for all the right reasons.

Ebooks because rough paper in books is icky, I like soft paper with pictures

Physical books. I like the turning of pages, the smell of a really old book, highlighting good lines by little dog ears.

Physical because I like to write in and underline parts of the book.

You mean paperback book, not physical book.
