How many meals per day for 4 week old GSD puppy ?

Im sorry about asking questions again and again...

The breeder told me to feed my pup every three hours begin from 6 am to 10 pm. Then there were around 7 meals each day including (milk, cheese, yoghurt)....

My puppy is active and tries to bite me and everything all the time. BUT he has watery stools. It looks like dairrhea. Also he passea loose stools 4-5 times a day..

I simply want to know is it normal or do i need to make any changes of his diet ?

Thanks...

Your puppy has no business being away from his mother, breeder and siblings if he is only 4 weeks! And for good reason it's illegal in many countries to sell at under 8 WEEKS. At 4 weeks, weaning will only just have begun, with most of the nourishment still coming from mum. Even if mum can't feed her litter for some reason, THE BREEDER should have taken over, feeding the puppies as needed, which usually means four/five meals a day of a porridge mix using a good quality puppy food mixed with warm goats milk, or just water.

Much as the puppy may well be better off away from this very poor breeder, as long as you are guided by your vet re his ongoing care, he really should go straight back or this breeder will try this again with the same sad results.

I don't suppose you have been given any indication the puppy has been wormed? It should have been, from 2 weeks of age and every 2 weeks up to the time it would normally have gone to the new home AT 8 WEEKS AT LEAST!. But talk to your vet because if by chance this puppy has Parvo (which is possible), the last thing it needs is to be wormed at this point.

Oh and cut out the milk, unless it is goats milk which is similar in make-up to b itch milk, and cheese much as a small amount of natural yogurt (if you can source goats yogurt, so much the better) may be okay.

4 weeks is really young to be away from the mother that's the first thing. The second thing is dogs have a hard time digesting milk and milk products and it will definitely give them diaharrea. You should get some grain free dog food and soak it in a little bit of water until it's easy to mash and feed him that. I'm suggesting a grain free dog food because dogs are allergic to corn (even though it's in almost all dog foods) until your puppy starts eating dry food his stools will be a little loose. I wouldn't feed him so many times a day either. Maybe 3-4 meals, let him eat all that he wants to at a meal though, and always have water down for him to drink. Hope this helps....

puppies are NOT meant to leave their mom until 8- 10 weeks, the so called breeder IS only using her dogs to make money,. STOP feeding the pup cheese, milk & youghurt. Give him boiled rice with pieces of chicken mixed in with the rice, get proper puppy food, a good brand of puppy food especially for large breed pups.

Get this poor pup to a vet who actually knows what to do.

Also report the breeder- selling pup under 8 weeks of age is HIGHLY ILLEGAL in most places

Don't listen to the BYB. Dogs are lactose intolerant and should not be fed any dairy products, period.

Your responsibility to take it to a vet within 48 hours of getting it along with a fresh fecal specimen, then feed it properly.
