How can I be the one that who can only feed my dog ?
Hi.. i have a long haired gsd pup... I want to know how can i make him only to eat the foods that i offer ? That means he should not eat foods that others (strangers) offer him.
Reason - I feed him properly according to our vets instructions (Quality dog food, vitamin ect....). Im affraid that if others including neighbors offerd him some allergy foods like chocolate or even poison by thieves.
Thanks....

Chocolate is not an allergy food, it's a toxic food to dogs as their systems cannot handle the cocoa powder in choclate and it can shut down their internal organs.
Even well trained dogs can fall for poison laced beef or meats, if your that worried about people trying to poison your dog you would be best off supervising him when he is outside. Checking the yard twice a day to make sure nobody tosses food into it. Between training and being watchful it's your best solution.
If you train your dog only to take food just from your hands personally and not his dish or feeding station keep in mind if you get Seriously sick and end up in the hospital or are in an accident, the dog will not eat during the duration your in hospital. If it's several weeks your dog can get very weak not eating that long.
