Which of the following are gene combinations can be found in this fruit fly's egg cells?

A female fruit fly has a genotype of AABb for two independent traits. Which of the following are gene combinations that could be found in her egg cells?

A. AB and Ab

B. AA and Bb

C. AB, Ab, aB, and ab

D. AABb

Also please explain, because I don't get this.

    Another way to think of this is to treat these letters like you would numbers and use FOIL method. This is how you will get the gametes you need for the punnet square if you need to create one.

    (AA)(Bb) == AB, Ab, AB, Ab --> eliminate redundant answers and viola, you get AB and Ab as the possible gametes from this individual. 50/50 chance of each.

    Gametes have one allele of each gene - AB & Ab are all the possibilities.
