Is it better to buy an unassembled bicycle 'online'? does it have any problems regarding proper fitting?

Questions come across this website ALL the time. Something like, "I bought the wrong size bike online. Now what do I do?" Or..."I bought a bike online & I'm having problems putting it together." Or..."I bought a bike online & the brakes don't work right." Or, "...the shifters don't work right." Etc, etc., etc.

And every day I write the same damn thing. If you can't TEST RIDE the bike before the sale, DON'T buy it. Which means follow these five, easy, simple-to-understand words...

    Go

    To

    A

    Bicycle

    Shop

Better quality. Better (professional) service - before, during & especially AFTER the sale. And a REAL service warranty good for at least one FREE tune-up as the bike gets settled in. One bike shop near me offers a FREE, LIFETIME service warranty. http://bigshark.com/about/policies-and-shipping-pg...

Know why bikes online cost less? Because (usually) there's a lot less QUALITY. Which choice is the bigger bargain now?

How good are your mechanical skills? Do you have enough bike specific tools? If you are unable to figure out your correct size and don't know how to build a bike, then buying online is a big disadvantage, you will need professional help for both which will eat up any of the savings you made by buying online. I have built up hundreds of bikes, many from a bare frame. I have a full set of tools and I know how to tell if a bike will fit me by reading a bike manufacturers frame geometry chart, so buying online could work for me. Odds are, if you have to ask buying online isn't a good idea for you

EDIT: you have been asking question after question about cheap bikes. They are cheap for a reason, and that reason is because they are built with cheap parts. Online bikes can cost less, but only if you know what your are buying. You simply can't get around this unless you are willing to spend hundreds of hours learning about bikes. If you do that, you won't have to waste your time asking questions here

It is better not to do that, unless you live somewhere so remote that you have little choice. Buy from a bike shop where a skilled mechanic will ensure that you get the correct size, will check that the bike is in good order before you take it away, and where you can take the bike back in a few weeks for the post-sales service to adjust the stretched cables, etc. It is well worth the extra money.

Buying a bicycle online should be limited to those who can do their own mechanical work and fitting for themselves. If this doesn't describe you, then you should be paying a local shop to provide the help that you WILL require.

Never buy a bike online that you can not test ride locally first to be sure you like it and it fits you properly. Plus, bikes in bike shops have been properly inspected after they are assembled to be sure there are no problems before they are sold.

How trusted is the sell? Look the reviews and ask questions on return rights and/or part replacement. Be sure you know to build up the bike properly and not to damage components. Good Luck!

Low end bikes online are junk and are very limited in size choices.

" I need information (quality) about the following MTB Brands: 1) BTWIN 2) HERO 3) COSMIC 4) HUGE 5) SUNCROSS? "

Means you know nothing about bikes.

depends how much you need to assemble, setting up the gears can be tricky. I got a partly assembled one from bikes365direct and I had no probs putting the seat, wheels, forks and headset on - the gears were all checked and calibrated though
