Why is the press left leaning? Hiring practices?

What better way to brainwash and propagandize little liberals than with the media and education?

Not one liberal thought on this site veers off from what the media tells them to think.

The press in general represents the average consensus of reality by the vast majority of viewers and readers. Its simple marketing, they want to increase their marketing base so they need to represent the middle of the spectrum where most of the consumers are, in order to be a respected and trusted news source so that people buy their product.

It is understandable that someone on the extreme right would see this norm as "left wing", just as one on the extreme left would see the norm as "right wing". But the truth is that it is the general consensus.

They expose truth.

to the extent that the media is left leaning, its because most people working in the media are intelligent and well-educated.

Maybe. Mostly I think its culture. Who grows up thinking I want to be a journalist or teacher? There in lies the conundrum. Fascists are control freaks and what better place to start than in teaching the young and influencing thought through the press.

I think it's more likely your perspective. Most of us do not find the press to be left-leaning.

Because if you even hint you might be fair minded, you will NEVER be in front of the camera.. or able to have your articles published w/out censorship...
