Im trying to understand velocity can someone please confirm whether my understanding is correct here?

If an object were to mover from point A to point B which is a distance of 50 metres, in a time of 50 seconds then the speed of that object would be 50 metres per second and the velocity would be 50 m/s^2. However if the object were to go from A to B but then move back to A travelling at 50 metres per second then the speed would be 50m/s but the velocity would be 0 because the object has no displacement from the original point.

Please correct me if I am wrong or help me to understand it better. Thank you.

Update:

Thank you to the person who pointed out that the speed would be 1m/s and not 50 m/s. That was a mistake on my part.

Yes, velocity takes into account your overall change in position with respect to time, and is in m/s, I might add, it takes into account your direction, further 50m/50s does not equal 50 m/s, its 1 m/s
