can someone help calculate the velocity on this question please.?

an object begins at rest but then travels:

50m north in 40 seconds,

70m west in 60 seconds

30m south in 70 seconds

40m east in 20 seconds.

Overall time = 40+60+70+20 = 190s

final position of object is calculated to be 36 m away from original point since:

70-40 =30

50-30= 20

a^2+b^2 = c^2

30^2+20^2= c^2

Sqroot30^2+20^2 = C

C=36

Displacement = 36

Therefore V = 36/190

Is this the correct calculation? How do I say whether the velocity is positive or negative? if I have anything incorrect please let me know. Thank you.

    the calculations are correct but its the average velocity. not just velocity.
