How to strengthen wifi?
So my parents have placed the router and modem fairly in the middle of the house, however, all the wall are concrete....so it has to go through about 3-4 concrete walls before the signal reaches me, which is seriously slowing down my internet speeds. At first I thought it was my other computer because it was 9 years old, so I got a new macbook pro and the speeds have increased slightly but nowhere near where I need them to be.
So How do I get the signal to reach all the way back here?

If you can run an Ethernet cable from the router to your space where you use the computer, that would help greatly. There are supposedly devices that can be plugged into the ac connection at the point where the router is plugged in that will transmit the signal through the house wiring and to the ac wall plug where you use your computer if it's plugged into the wall ac socket with an adapter. I don't know how well these connections work with a router and computer connected, but the similar ones with telephones worked well.

Buy a repeater and hook it up halfway between your room and the router. You can also try repositioning your existing router so it's higher up. Most people understandably try to hide their routers, but doing so can seriously hurt their performance.
You may also just have a slow internet connection. If your wifi strength is "good" or "excellent," the problem is not with your wifi.

Access Point...
Wi-Fi Repeater will only Weaken the signal while it extends it.
Access Point allow the most strength for a WiFi Extended Broadcast... it will be as solid as the Router's signal.

Unfortunately wireless will have issues no matter what because of the structure of your home. There are many ways to try and get around this but this would definitely require buying extenders and or plug links attached to another router.

Purchase a wireless access point, place it near your room and run a CAT6 cable from the access point back to your router and connect it into a LAN switch port of the router
