Solar panels on a rental?

I m planning on renting a house soon, and getting solar panels to reduce the electric bill, would installing solar panels count as like an addition to the house, belonging to the property owner, or would I still own the solar panels?

Installing solar panels requires work such as screwing through the roof structure and as such wouldn't be allowed for a tenant without permission from the owner. The panels would still belong to you but you'd have to repair the property when your tenancy ended.

You cannot do this without written permission from your Landlord. This will affect the electric meter and when you move out everything will have to be changed back again. Plus there could be damage to HIS roof.

    Its not going to happen.

If they're attached to the house, they belong to the property owner.

They would be yours. But you will need permission from the property owner before you install.
