To Persian Speakers: What does this word mean?
Mului (Mūlūī) or مولوي.
I've heard this as a last name and the name of certain locations within The Middle East, but I'm unable to find the origin of the word or what it's derived from. Maybe someone can help me out?
Mului is a Persian word and name in this context. That's the problem. The Arabic letters (مولوي) can translate into an Arabic word, meaning Rumi, or "master" but does it mean the same thing in Persian? It's kind of like saying the word "gift" (in English) means "poison" in German; they're completely different things.
So, does it mean the same thing in Persian?

it's an Arabic word , it comes from the word مولى which means Lord . and مولوي is someone who's related to the Lord and those are dervishes .
