My Digital Camera won't turn on after plugging it with USB to my computer.?
So I took some pictures with my digital camera and wanted to put them on my computer. I plugged it with the USB cable that came with the camera and plugged it into the computer. Not only did it fail to import the pictures and videos but the camera just turned off as a hole. And it won't turn back on! Please help! What happened and how do I fix it?!?!?
My camera is Olympus Sp-820uz

Sounds like dead batteries.
In all honesty, I don't know anyone who directly imports photos from the camera itself. It's far better to use a card reader because they're less prone to connection and download problems than when using the camera. Your camera uses USB2.0. Card readers will either use USB2 or the faster USB3.0. USB3.0 is 10x faster than USB2.0, so if you have USB3.0 ports, then get yourself a card reader.
Considering the speed of USB3.0 and that it's backwards compatible with USB2.0 ports, and it's easier and much less troublesome to use, just get a USB3.0 card reader. There's not much difference between them, so you don't need to spend a lot. Here's a link to B&H showing card readers from the best brands: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?atclk=Brand_S...
Since 2011, I have been using the Hoodman SD cards and readers, and I've never have had a download problem.
