Batman forever was a flop(I did love it though)so maybe they didn't want him back after that one.George Clooney only did a batman film once too (his movie genuinly sucked and deserves to be panned by critics)
But back to your question Val Kilmer has continued acting and been in some great films since like Heat.he's quiet in recent times due to a mystery illness
