Looking for a good, free, video editing software?

I am trying to make youtube videos, I have some recorded, but I have only edited one and I did so with Adobe Premiere Pro. However my free trail is about to run out and I do not have the money to continuously pay for it. So I was hoping to find a program for free that could do the things I need. I was recommended Vegas (Assume they mean Sony Vegas Pro), but I can t find a way to download that safely at all, nonetheless free. If anyone could recommend me a program and give me a link I would appreciate it.

I will need to be able to put a webcam video in the corner of the screen, cut and edit the video/audio, and put text on the screen if need be.

I like camtasia, you can use free version or find a code online. If you want to test a safe way for sony vegas, download VMWare and create a virtual machine, then download something. The files do not interact with the files on your real computer, therfore if there is a virus, you can delete the virtual machine and it will be fine.

I don't know of any good free ones to be honest. You can try Bandicam. The unregistered version will give you 10 minutes - that's as good as it gets for free. It also compresses the video, so it's small, and it has presets for YouTube so it's easy to upload the files.
