Where are these photos on google that are taking all of my space?

My google drive says I have 13G of space used by photos. Please read what I've done, and why I'm lost for answers. I have zero photos on google. I have no phone apps or anything else. When I go to photos there are no photos showing. I've tried the recover the space by compression, but after a few hours it never works. I go back and it still shows 13G used. I have done away with cookies and session info in order to avoid stale data. It still won't work. I've tried from different browsers and nothing. I did a few months ago click the download on a few large videos from a google plus account, and I received a notice that space was used up. Problem is, where are these videos or whatever it is. If I can't find them, I can't remove them.

Google photos may be auto backing up your phones images. Go to google plus and the photos may be there. Also, you may have old pictures from Picasa web albums.
