Nelson's Column is a monument in Trafalgar Square in central London built to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson, who died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The monument was constructed between 1840 and 1843 to a design by William Railton at a cost of £47,000. It is a column of the Corinthian order[1] built from Dartmoor granite. The Craigleith sandstone statue of Nelson is by E. H. Baily and the four bronze lions on the base, added in 1867, were designed by Sir Edwin Landseer

Lock them up, and throw away the key. I would like to know the tax arrangements for that organisation. It is an international company, not a charity (though it sometimes breaks UK charity laws by allowing its street collectors to give that impression). It runs ships. That is an incredibly expensive thing to do, and we certainly have the right to know where this political pressure group is funded from (it has links with German politicians), and where it pays its taxes.

I remember watching John Noakes climb Nelsons column back in 1977. He was up there to help scrub off some of the pigeon muck. To be honest, cleaning up the air is far more important than cleaning up the pigeon poo.

Silly plonkers nobody takes any notice of them. Pity they didn't get proper jobs and stopped wasting tax payer's money.
