"Find the zeros of f
F(x)= xe^x+e^x"
This problem confuses me greatly... Please help and explain! e of course being the 2.1718 variable

Factor first, then set each factor = 0 (same as we do with quadratics)
x e^x + e^x = 0
e^x (x + 1) = 0
e^x = 0 ---> no solutions
x + 1 = 0 ---> x = −1
The only zero is x = −1

This factors as
.. f(x) = e^x*(x+1)
e^x is never zero, so the zero will be where
.. x + 1 = 0
.. x = -1
