Is everyone happy that the 2016 tax filing season has come to an end?

    Check your calendar. The 2016 tax season ends next April.

    actually it is the 2016 tax filing season, my CCH reference materials would have 2016 in their titles etc but all the information would refer to the conditons existing for year 2015--just adding more confusion to more confusion

    and for many tax preparers, after maybe a week of letting down after the mad rush they will be back to their normal work and slowly but gradually process all the extensions they put in for and be swamped again Oct. 10, 2016 for 2015

    I cannot speak for "everyone".

    The 2015 tax filing season doesn't end until October 15.

    Why would "everyone" be happy about any arbitrary filing deadline? It is what it is.
