Why did the dog leave home? Why did owner never claimed dog back?

There was this 7 year old.dog.Animal.control.found the dog.in a residential.neighborhood.

It seemed.like the dog.was.injured. People at the shelter said this dog was the sweetest.

It had a microchip, was well.groomed and had great manners. Had a.lot.of boundaries.

The owner never.went.to.the.shelter to get the dog back.

The dog was adopted.

Why do you think the owner never got the dog back?

The owner did not contact the shelter even though the shelter left a phone message for the owner.

The adopted owner said that she feels that the.dog wanted to take her somewhere maybe the old home. The dog seemed concerned about the old home.

The original owner of the dog never claimed the dog, even after knowing where the dog was, because the owner did not want to get their dog back. If they did, they would have claimed the dog. The dog is much better off, being adopted by a family who does want him or her and will give the dog a happier and better life. The original owner does not deserve to get the dog back, if they are not going to protect the dog and allow the dog the opportunity to get loose in the first place.

Many reasons. Maybe they just decided they don't want the dog anymore? Maybe they are out on vacation or something and didn't get the call? Maybe the owner is severely injured and unable to respond to the phone call, and doesn't have any relatives or friends that visit often and therefore no one knows? There are many possibilities. I guess let the dog loose and follow it, see if it goes to it's old home. If so, knock on the door or leave a note?

    Many, mnay reasons

They can't afford the fines for letting it run loose

They can't afford the vet care

They dont care about the dog

Maybe they are not home and are on vacation and the person watching the dog let it run loose

Maybe the owners are sick or hospitalized
