I wanna go to Rome, as a suburban guy that has never been out of the country (except a cruise to Mexico) it's a little nerve wrecking and I could use some help. Things I would like to know-
What would be the best date to go as far as price wise, and good-vacation wise?
Where should I get my hotel (location wise) as far as where the best spots are?
Anything I should watch out for?
Anything else I should know in general?
Also, do people commonly speak English?
Last thing - Any sites you would recommend for booking stuff?

The best first thing you could do is to buy a guide book. Then you can figure out when you want to go and what you want to do.
