How often should I get my hair cut to help it grow?

I got my hair cut to just under my ears early last August (almost nine months). I haven't had it cut since. I know I should cut it to keep it healthy but I don't want to continuously cut it so it stays short. How long should I wait between each haircut and how much should I get cut off each time?

If you have split ends, you get them trimmed to keep them from going up the hair shaft to the root (they won't get that far, but that is the direction the splits will head. No split end, no reason to get the hair trimmed.

And cutting your hair does NOTHING other than cut it. It does not make the hair grow any faster, never has, never will. All the hair that you see and touch is dead. So cutting it only shortens it. It does not make it grow, hair is not a living plant.

The reason to trim your hair while growing it out is because you can get split ends that shorten the hair at one end while it is growing a the other end.

If you're getting split ends, you need to get a trim. If you aren't getting split ends, cutting your hair won't change anything, and it won't make it grow faster. Your hair follicles don't "feel" your hair getting cut.

Cutting your hair to keep it healthy or to make it grow faster is a complete myth. Don't cut your hair! Just wait it out. Eat clean; So, include a variety of foods like milk, cheese, yogurt, chicken, eggs, whole grains, salmon, spinach, broccoli, bell peppers, cabbage, parsley, grapefruit, avocado, brown bread, oats, and alfalfa in your diet to nourish your hair and scalp. Exercise, get enough sleep, get head massages as it stimulates hair follicles, lay off heat appliances and make sure you get plenty of vitamins and minerals such as iron, zinc, and vitamins A, B, C, D and E.

Cutting doesn't help. I would invest in some hair skin and nail vitamins to keep it long and strong. Message me for suggestions :)

You SHOULD get it trimmed once every month or so, but who wants to go spend money to get their hair trimmed that often? Once every two months or even a tad longer should be sufficient.

I'm not sure but there's a product they sell at places like cvs called "hair, skin and nails" and it makes your hair grow much faster, it's very amazing, I use it !
