What are forms of child abuse? I ask because my friend mom hit him with a belt and now he has marks of the belt on him.?

Well child abuse is not being hit with the belt once and a while when you are doing something you should not, but if she constantly harms your friend WITHOUT A PURPOSE. Then you should talk to YOUR mom/ dad for some answers because it is not good for a kid to just right away call the police, because for all you know it could have been for a reason

Child abuse: starvation over an extended period, cigarette burns, broken bones/fractured skull, water in lungs, fingernails ripped out, having to live outdoors in a dog house in the winter, signs of being stomped, being sold to adults for sex, being made to star in movies for pedophiles, that sort of thing.

Discipline: no phone, no TV, no video games, made to stay home (grounded), corporal punishment with only temporary after-effects, no supper, mouth washed out with soap, told off in no uncertain terms, privileges suspended for a period, that sort of thing.

Despite what other people may claim, that is a form of abuse and he can report her to the police.
