What are the US Air Force astigmatism limits?

I believe they are up to 3.0 diopter you can get a waiver right?

    No.

    This is what applies:

    AR 40-501, "Standards of Medical Fitness," Aviation, page 43, Chapter 4-12, a.(3)(c):

    "4–12. Vision

    The causes of medical unfitness for flying duty Classes 1/2/2F/3/4 are the following:

    a.(3)(c) Astigmatism greater than +/–1.00 diopter of cylinder in either eye."

    "May" be waived but WILL NOT be waived. That is how military aviation works.

    @Mrsjvb was mistakenly looking at the limits for Myopia (nearsightedness).

    0.75 for pilots

    2.0 for CSO's

    +/- 8.00 that being said some AFSCs have stricter requirements.
