Where will Steven Stamkos end up next season?

I don't know. I've heard fairly intelligent people say as much; on the one hand TOR will be a greatly improved team, but they're still 1-2 years away and Stamkos is in his prime (just past it). Is this something he's willing to get on board with?

Plus, with all of the elite young talent that the Leafs have, the reality is that in 3 years the ELC's for Marner, Nylander, and Matthews will be expiring (plus the other kids they have in the AHL if they make the big club). Rielly, Gardiner and Kadri are on fairly decent deals (JVR's deal expires after the 2017-18 season). They have one more year of Robidas (likely LTIR) but 2 more years of Lupul. I don't expect Bozak to be around at the start of next year ($4.25mm gone). If Lou can make Lupul disappear they can consider going after Stamkos, but the other question is how long (not sure I want him around for 7-8 years).

The teams that have the cap space for him are very limited.
