Transgender and sexual identity disorder?
Our society, dealing with bullies, are trying to fight back against body shamers. If someone is overweight and dislike their bodies, we tell them that they are beautiful the way they are and they should walk tall.
Meanwhile, a man wants to be a woman, we pat them on the back and support their decision to disfigure themselves in order to change their image.
Why do we tell some people they are beautiful the way they are and they don't need to change, and tell others that we support them and even praise them for their change? Which is it? Should we be proud of who we are, or should we go through extreme lengths to change who we are?
Let's be honest, losing weight is a little less expensive and disfiguring then gender transition and reconstruction.

False comparison.
Transsexualism is not a mental condition or a personal choice.
Most people are born with a gender identity in their brain that matches the sex of their body, transsexual people are not. That's what transsexualism is, a birth condition. This leads to a life of pain and misery as their body feels profoundly wrong and nobody ever sees them as the person they truly are. Transsexual people transition (aka "sex change") to affirm their inborn gender identity by changing their body to match and assuming a gender appropriate role in society.
Transsexualism is a scientifically proven physical birth condition.

It seems to me overweight people are often coddled by family or friends who don't want to offend them so say they are fine how they are. This approach doesn't really do them any favours as when someone gets increasingly overweight there are more health risks .
It is a false comparison though.
