Can I study in the US and work at the same time?
Obviously the normal student Visa wouldn t allow me to work - but does anyone know of some sort of special form I can request in order to work, too? I plan on doing a part-time course that s going to cost me several thousand pounds anyway, so saving up is going to be hard enough - without having to save for all my living expenses while I m there!
I should have mentioned - it is a vocational course (dog training) and isn't with a traditional educational institution (uni, college, etc). It's a lot of home-based study, and a few face-to-face sessions. And again, I'm doing a part-tie course. There is no full-time option.

You cannot get an M-1 or F-1 student visa for anything less than full time study. The only visa that allows you to work and study at the same time is the J-1 internship visa. I doubt whether the training school can get you that but ask them.
By the way our dog training is far better than that offered in the US. They use food, we use voice.

No. You need the money first, before yoyo apply for the visa. You need enough cash for tuition, room, board, other living expenses, and a plane ticket home. You can not get the visa if you don't have enough money.
