Question about NY's Sick Leave Law?

Update:

Hi There,

NYC law changed last year to require that employers of our size give 5 sick days per year. We give 6. The sick time accrues incrementally each paycheck. It used to be that if someone was on unpaid leave, they would not accrue time. But i'm wondering if the new law requires us to accrue for them while they're out on unpaid leave. Anyone know? I can't find anything in the literature.

You should call the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs to ask this question. You'll get a far better answer that way.
