  • Need bluetooth headphone recommendations...audiophiles preferred.?

    Hi New Friends,

I'm crossing over into Bluetooth world with my iPhone7. I'm trying to spend less than 3 hundo. The only thing I really care about his sound. I don't care about look, comfort or noise cancelation. I was looking at the Sennheiser Momentum and the Bose Quietcomfort. But again, I don't need noise cancelation, I prefer to hear my surroundings a bit. I was checking out those two because the sound quality is supposed to be amazing. Especially with the Sennheisers. From what I've read the Bose are disappointing when it comes to bass. I like electronic and hip hop. Both the phones are crazy expensive. The cheaper bose without the noise cancelation seem to have the same issue with bass. Any recommendations? Fantastic sound...that's what i need kids.

  • New iPhone announcement on Wednesday. When will the 6 drop in price? Same day?

    Hello,

I've been waiting for the release of the new iPhone so that the price will drop on the old one as it does every time. I did the same thing when the last iPhone came out. Remind me: Does the price of the old phone go down the same day as the announcement? Like can I get my new phone on Wednesday? Or will it be the next day? Or does it drop when the new one is actually released? Cant remember. Thanks!

  • Is a plus 1 implied on a wedding invite?

I was invited to a friend's wedding in LA. I live in NY. Invite just said "you are invited" as opposed to "you and a guest". I want to go, I love this couple but I'd rather not attend by myself. Currently single. I have another friend in LA id love to bring. Is it appropriate to ask the couple if I can bring a guest or is that rude? I know it's expensive for each guest so I don't want to put them in an awkward position. Is a plus 1 usually implied even if it's not specified? Thanks.

  • Who makes the rule that 401k money can only be withdrawn under certain circumstances? Is it the company plan? or the IRS?

employees are frequently asking me if they can withdraw their money. Not loans, I'm talking in service withdrawal. They want to move the funds somewhere else. I know that the employee has to be 59 1/2 or over. Or face a hardship. or leave the company altogether. But I'm getting mixed messages regarding who makes that rule. Is it the IRS? Or is it our plan and the plan sponsor? Or did the company decide that? are there plans exist that due allow it? albeit with high penalties. A few of my employees said they're willing to pay the penalties. but I'm told even then, it's entirely not allow. I'm just trying to explain to them why. I know It's meant for retirement, but I'm still confused about whether or not the IRS made the rule or if it's our plan?

  • Is it possible for a company to prevent an employee from withdrawing their 401k early even if they are willing to pay penalties?

I'm not talking about hardships or termination. See, our companies 401k company is saying that, per our plan document, an employee cannot take an early withdrawal on the 401k even if they are willing to pay penalties. I understand that the usual reasons are retirement/termination, hardships or if the employee is 59 1/2. I know that some plans allow withdrawls outside of those reasons, if the employee is willing to pay the penalty. But is it possible for the plan to state that regardless, under no other circumstances other than those three, can an employee withdraw their 401k? Plan does allow loans, And i know it's ill-advised to take a withdrawl and pay those fees, it's not for me. But i do need to know, is it a plan specific rule? thanks.

  • How to list a Three part name on i-9 from Perm Resident card?

One of our employees insists that we have his name backwards in the payroll. There are three parts to the name. I dont want to give his name here so I'll use a psudonym. Albert Jefferson Moran. We have him listed Moran as his last name. He insists it's Jefferson. Now, according to his permement resident card... his given name is Albert and Surname: Jefferman Moran. Of course I want to go by the name that the US government has listed. So going by his Perm Resident Card, should his last name be Moran. Or Jefferson Moran? OR are the names reversed and he's correct that it should be Moran Jefferson? I would think he'd know his own name.

I hope that wasn't too confusing. I even E-verified him using Moran as the last name and he came back as authorized to work.

  • Studio and Casual Headphones under $150?

    Hello new friends,

I'm not much of an audiophile in the sense that when I look at specs...it's pretty much gibberish to me. That said, i'm looking for good headphones that I can use both for casual listening but also for mixing. I use Maschine for beat making and remixing tracks. I should probably know more about headphones then I do but it is what it is. I'm sort of new to the whole thing.

    I'm looking at getting either...

    Audio Technica M50s

    Sennheiser 280 HD Pro

    V-Moda Cross Fades

I know that with a decent pair of headphones I'll be able to hear sounds I never heard before from albums I'm listening to. II'm excited for that prospect. And like I said, I need something better than my Sony noise cancelling headphones (which i've been told you're not supposed to use noise cancelling headphones for mixing anyways). These Sonys have almost no bass I'm convinced sounds are getting buried in the mix. And the vocals on a lot of songs sound week no matter how much I EQ.

So in short, while I'm sure there is no perfect headphones...what do you think? I don't care about the look or comfort so much as mix. Audiophiles! Help!

Would it be difficult to cut my own hair?

Thinking of looking up instructions on how to cut my own hair. I'm male. It's more than a shave, but it's nothing too fancy. Please take a look at the photo. I've never cut my hair before, except when I used to just buzz it all. Would it be hard to do this? or relatively straight forward? thanks!

  • Does an employer file workers' comp regardless of whose fault it was?

My understanding is an employer is supposed to file every incident with workers comp even if it's not their fault. However, worker's comp will either choose to pay or deny the filing depending on their determination as to whose fault it is. Is that correct? New york state if it makes a difference.

  • If employee is given a W-2C for a correction, do they have to wait until IRS gets the employer docs?

We had to correct an employee's social security number on their W-2. I filled out the W-2C and W-3C forms and the employee has her copy of the W-2C. I'm sending the employer copies today. Does the employee have to wait before filing her taxes? I'm guessing she can file them now and the IRS will just wait until they get the W-2C and W-3C from us? Or will she have to wait?

    Thanks.

  • Employer, fixing employees Social Security # on W-2?

I'm the HR person for a company. One of the employees had an incorrect Social Security number on her W-2. Payroll Error. I understand about issue a W-2C and W-3C to the IRS. They're all filled out. We can have our payroll system issue a new W-2 but they charge hundreds of dollars and we're a struggling non profit. We're trying to avoid the fees to reissue. I did read someone posting from H&R block that the employee can simply cross out the social on their W-2 with pencil and write the correct amount. Again i'm still filing the W-2C and W-3C. Then someone else posted online that the W-2C serves as a corrected amendment to the W-2 and that's all I have to give the employee...the W-2C and they can use that. Can someone let me know what's correct so she can file her taxes?

    Thanks.

  • Looking for play recommendations for reading, not seeing.?

    Hello new friends,

I've been into reading plays recently as opposed to novels. I'm not an actor, just enjoying the reading. I saw Who's Afraid of Viriginia Wolff and have read it three times since then. There's a few classic i'm familiar with, looking for more recommendations. Some examples of plays I've already read and give an example of the type of thing i'm looking for...

    Equus

    Streetcar Named Desire

    Death of a Salesman

    Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolff

Cat on a hot tin roof

I apparently like those dark psychological type things haha.

I've never read Glass Menagerie. Maybe I should read that one.

  • Terminating an employee out on disability...?

    Legal question...

An employee has been out on disability leave for a leg injury. It's been six months and he's collecting disability. The company is unable to offer him reasonable accomadations because for his job he needs to be able to walk around and do janitorial work. there are no other positions open that he is qualified for. The company has a temporary employee doing his job currently and would like to terminate the employee out on leave and make the temp permenant.

    Somethings of note...

He's been out for over six months, so he's not covered by FMLA if I understand correctly.

He is a legally blind individual, Albino. But ADA doesn't cover this becaue this has nothing to do with his vision at all, only his leg injury.

This individual has been out on disability three times in a year and a half for separate injuries. He's provided doctors notes.

NYS if that makes a difference.

I'm going to check a few sources on this, don't want anyone thinking I'm turning to Yahoo answers for definitive legal answers haha.

  • How long will it take to do my taxes?

    Ay folks,

It's my first time doing my taxes. My dad used to do them but I should learn. I'm using turbotax for fed and state. My taxes are pretty basic...

    I have 1 W-2.

    I rent my apt.

    Single, no dependants

    No car

    Savings account

    Only insurance is through employer.

Taxes from unemployment checks, prior to my employment obviously.

That's really it. I'm good with navigating software. About how long should I set aside? Thanks

  • What religion is this: Light Candles for the Dead every Friday...?

I work in HR. One of our employees sadly lost his mother recently. He is now requesting that he be able to leave every Friday at 1PM because his religion requires him to light a candle every Friday for one year. I have no reason to not believe he's telling the truth, but working in HR I like to confirm everything. I've had people give me very odd and frequently untrue stories to justify special accomadations, So i just need to make sure. I was managing a store once and my assistant manager kept leaving early almost every day claiming his mother who was sick with cancer needed his help with something. His mother did have Cancer but he was not going to help her. Social media made it clear he was going skateboarding, meeting up with friends or buying new video games consoles instead. Still can't believe he used his mom's illness for that. but anyways...I just want to identify which religion this is without prying into his personal life so I can look it up. Then I will absolutly allow him to do this. It creates a burden for his supervisor. I also woudl have no problem with him, stepping away from work and lighting candles instead of having to go home. As long as it's done safely. if ithat's an option. Thanks for your help. I tried googling it but I keep coming up with a thing in the jewish religion about a once a year candle lighting, not every Friday for one year.
