Studio and Casual Headphones under $150?
Hello new friends,
I'm not much of an audiophile in the sense that when I look at specs...it's pretty much gibberish to me. That said, i'm looking for good headphones that I can use both for casual listening but also for mixing. I use Maschine for beat making and remixing tracks. I should probably know more about headphones then I do but it is what it is. I'm sort of new to the whole thing.
I'm looking at getting either...
Audio Technica M50s
Sennheiser 280 HD Pro
V-Moda Cross Fades
I know that with a decent pair of headphones I'll be able to hear sounds I never heard before from albums I'm listening to. II'm excited for that prospect. And like I said, I need something better than my Sony noise cancelling headphones (which i've been told you're not supposed to use noise cancelling headphones for mixing anyways). These Sonys have almost no bass I'm convinced sounds are getting buried in the mix. And the vocals on a lot of songs sound week no matter how much I EQ.
So in short, while I'm sure there is no perfect headphones...what do you think? I don't care about the look or comfort so much as mix. Audiophiles! Help!

Daniel...i'm dishing out some 'tough love' here...
I don't think decent cans will solve your problems...noise cancelling headphones for mixing/remixing that's not just wrong...it's almost criminal.
I'd point you towards the Shure SRH440 headphones...I reckon though...you don't have the experience or knowledge to make a decent track with good audio...the headphones might help...my gut feeling is...they won't.
