Explain to me how Byron Saxton adds nothing to the WWE Commentary table?

The idea of a 3 headed announce team is kind of overwhelming to begin with, but tack on the countless guest color guys like Owens that put on a headset every show and steal the spotlight with genuine banter instead of beholding to the gorilla position gods, it's not hard to understand how a guy like Saxton gets lost in the shuffle of things.

It doesn't help either that Cole and JBL have built up a rapport and can BS during a match about virtually nothing in a way that only good friends know how to. Byron doesn't have the ground work that those two have with each other, and he doesn't have the confidence to genuinely butt into a conversation between the two without being swatted away like a kid at the grownup's table during Thanksgiving. Granted, the other two don't do Byron any favors, but the guy lacks a personality, he comes off phony, and despite being an in-ring performer prior to sitting behind the announce desk, he doesn't seem to have any expertise in calling a match.

Byron's useless. It's not entirely his fault, but some of it most definitely is.

He never really adds anything to the action in the ring. He just babyface barbs with JBL. That's it.

But to be fair, the lot of them (except for Mauro) hardly add anything to the matches anyway. Saxton just does even less. He never calls any moves, and his biggest contributions is a reaction-man, saying "ugh", "that's gotta hurt", or "did you see that?".

I still prefer Saxton over JBL. Saxton doesn't make me want to rip my ears off.

Clearly, WWE is grooming Saxton to be a Play By Play Commentator for their continued expansion. Yes, WWE has plans to grow even bigger than they are right now.

he'd be much more functional as the 'professional' Face... working with the immature Heel (JBL) and aiming for the Gorilla/Weasel dynamic

with Cole at the table acting as face, and JBL Never shutting up; Byron becomes redundant

The same people that said the same stuff about jim ross back in the day that now wish he still did commentary. Byron is ok, better that booker t and wayyy better than matt stryker and mick foley.

Why does no other professional wrestling promotion have a three man team, because it doesn't work.
