Poll - What is your opinion on the practice of tipping?

overall it's a good thing. service is better when the waitperson knows their tips depends on it. it's not really like you're paying more. if tips weren't in place, the check would be higher because then management would have to pay them more. this way, you at least get to reward good service and not reward bad.

yes, i do judge people who do not tip. especially when i'm eating with them. if the waitperson is nice enough to bring the food and be polite, then tip him / her. refusing to do so is just cheap.

This one time I was at a restaurant with my friends and we had a black waitress and I was just joking around with my friends and I look across the restaurant right at her and shook my empty glass at her. I know she probably thought that I was some kind of racist or something but I was just joking around with my friends I wasn't trying to be rude. She came over and gave me a very bad look as she filled my glass so I made it a point to make it up to her and left a very good tip. But before we left my friend took the money that I left as a tip. She gave me my money back when we got in the car. I felt really bad and I asked her why she took the money and she said she thought it was funny. I felt like taking it back in there to the waitress but I didn't.

No, I don't think customers shouldn't be required... I do think people should be paid more when they do good service.

But tipping is just customer satisfaction

I think it's wrong not to tip just because you don't think you should have to. Pay the lady!!!!

I like it. It gives me a chance to show appreciation and help good workers make more money.
