When did the children's book by Dr. Seuss "Oh, the Places You'll Go" become a popular graduation gift?
Now that it's graduation season and this question popped into my head as I was wondering when did that Dr. Seuss children's book "Oh, the Places You'll Go" become a popular graduation gift for high school and college graduates as that book was not published when I graduated from both high school and college.

It was first published in 1990,and from what I gather from reading online, it became a popular gift item pretty soon after publication. From personal experience, I do know it was a fairly common graduation gift as early as 1996.

When our society became completely stupid, vapid, and childish. I love Dr Suess, by the way. But this is ridiculous.
