I have a question related to the Percy Jackson series?

Say there was a demi-god whose godly parent was Pan (like, he gave birth to him BEFORE he died) how would he get claimed or whatever if Pan is dead?

Or would he just spend his whole life not knowing who his godly parent is?

Thanks

I suppose that his uncle or father might claim him in his father's stead (assuming that the uncle or father had motivation to do so!)

Pan's parentage is ambiguous in myth (usually Hermes is credited as his father, but sometimes other deities are).

    I can imagine scenarios:

    - The demigod's mother petitions the gods to claim her son on legal grounds. She (perhaps through an intermediary with standing) presents her petition to a divine court (which might be judged by any of the major deities, but presumably she would petition the one most likely to be favorable to such a petition, or perhaps she would petition all of them in turn or together at Olympus, if possible)

    - A god or goddess related to Pan "claims" the child in a "power play", in an attempt to use the child to further their own ambitions (whether good or bad, unselfish or selfish). In this case, the god or goddess sort of "adopts" the child.
