how to move fish?
I'm moving to another apartment in my neighborhood and i'm worried about moving my 20 gal fish tank. Normally I would just place my fish into large buckets of aquarium water with an air stone for the short move then empty out the aquarium. However my aquarium is planted with a layer of dirt and sand at the bottom. I can remove most of the water and the drift wood and rocks along with fish but I can't remove the plants and the substrate. I'm worried about the aquarium breaking what can i do.

Remove and save as much water as possible, transport the dirty filter materials as if they were live fish.
You probably can move the tank with the dirt and plants still in it as long as all the water and any heavy rocks are out. Just be sure to carry it with someone else so it's supported from the bottom when carrying it and that the bottom is on a piece of ply or something so it's totally flat while transporting
When you set it up again, just get it running and don't go crazy trying to clean it or clear up the cloudy water. Wait a day to siphon any filth off the bottom, but don't do too much. Feed very little in the next couple weeks to allow the biology to recover
Edit :hey, don't drop it
