Why are you here? What is your story?
I used to use Y!A a lot, like 4-5 years ago. Since then I've moved on, to places like Reddit, etc., but I come back and still see this is a fairly active community.
So, I'm just curious who are the people using this site? What is your story, and why are you here?

Sorry for the confusion in my description - just now figuring out how updates work.

I came across this site about 8 years ago and enjoyed answering questions and voting on undecided questions. I am retired and I can pass on my knowledge/advice by answering questions. There have been a lot of changes on this site, not all of them are good, but I am still here as it is a free site and I still enjoy it.
I really do miss voting on undecided questions, I loved to give someone the best answer that was due to them although the questions could be years old. There were days when I would spend more time voting then answering questions, the voting points helped me reach level 7.
As I said before I am retired and live in the UK.

I used to be pretty active on this site 6 or 7 years ago when this website was more fun to use and the format hadn't changed. Now it's just full of idiots trying to instigate arguments / fights, or they're just looking for people to confirm their ignorant views. The quality of questions and answers have diminished. The site isn't very fun to use anymore and when you actually have a serious question you get responses that didn't require any thought or any information to help you with your inquiry. It's disappointing. I still come on here to answer some questions when I'm bored or just trying to relax, but I don't use it as much as I used to. I try to just stick to the lighthearted questions nowadays. I miss the community this site used to have. I used to have quite a few contacts I would communicate with on occasion and it was nice learning from these people that live in different parts of the world. These days I rarely communicate with anyone. I have one contact on here that I met years ago who is very inspiring and has helped me through some rough patches. I still email her on occasion to catch up. I would like to be able to update my avatar considering it's a picture I took probably 5 years ago. LOL.
I live in the US, I'm fairly busy with work these days, and I'm about to finish my degrees in the upcoming weeks. I'm going to law school soon, so I probably won't be on here much at all in the next few months.

Hi 🙋 I used this place years ago when it was the green format and never really logged in much because I found the place totally boring. Now I have fun so I decided to stay. That's my story. Wouldn't even call it a story though would you?

I stumbled here 5 yrs ago on accident. Never left. Of course, i had a different name then. But i spent most of my time in singles & dating. Became a top contributor. Got banned when i entered polls & surveys for NO REASON. probably some az hole who thought i was a troll.
Been on p&s ever since.
I chose the name Artemisia because i identified with the 300 characters foul temper. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
But now i cant change it. Cant even change my ugly pictureless avatar. -_-

I don't know why I'm here anymore. Maybe it's a bad habit I find hard to break... most of my contacts are gone (left or died).
Now, it's worse than a soap opera...could almost pass for a free for all reality television show.
Or a very crappy game.
Here, people excuse their bad ways of treating others by saying we need thicker skin or to stop being so sensitive...giving themselves a reason to be jerks and pick fights.
Thank you for that thumbs down, whomever chose to give it. It is what it is and thumbs down doesn't change it.

During the past 10 years Yahoo Answers has lost nearly 75% of it's responsible subscribers. Whose left? A few old timers, teens, the under or over medicated, bored iresponsible (ab)users who troll as well as they study.
Source(s): I enjoy answering questions and that's why I'm still here. - NatalyLv 65 years ago
Same story here, but I'm at work so I come here to pass the time when Reddit isn't active for me.
