Anyone else experienced a perinatal loss despite a healthy, perfect pregnancy? How long should I wait to try to get pregnant again?
I experienced my tragic perinatal loss last April. It is, indeed, the WORST experience of my life. What makes this experience worse is that the results were UNEXPECTED, VERY IRONIC and SHOCKING. According to my drs, my entire pregnancy went perfectly well (no red flags whatsoever). This would've been my 1st baby.
My daughter was born FULL-TERM, weighed 7 lbs, 11 oz, 22" and looked perfectly fine. She was crying upon delivery and acted like any healthy newborn would. Minutes later, they claimed she had issues breathing. She was immediately taken away and little did I know, I would never see her alive again. A couple hours later, I was told she had passed due to her heart not allowing her to get proper blood flow for needed oxygen. Met with Chief Medical Officer yesterday, I was told autopsy results showed her death was caused by excessive white blood cells in her lungs. They stressed what happened to her is VERY, VERY RARE, which makes it harder for me to believe it had to happen to me after a supposedly healthy pregnancy. This has scarred my life. I miss my daughter. I no longer feel her in my tummy and don't even have her to hold in my arms; it's a totally traumatic experience.
I realize no two pregnancies are alike and every woman has a unique experience, but I just want to know if anything similar to this has happened to anyone else. If so, please share your story. And also, if you decided to try again, how long did you wait and did you have successful results.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I'd say this is a question for your OB-gyn at your next visit. I imagine s/he will recommend proceeding with trying to get pregnant again, but that's just a best guess.

Go through grief counseling. The hospital will tell you how to get it. You can also call Hospice and ask.
I'm terribly sorry for your loss, but you need to grieve this first before you go on.

So sorry for your loss. You should talk with your doctor about risks in future pregnancies.
