To the religious zealots, truth rarely matters. As long as they believe (by faith) it is true, it is true to them. If muslim terrorists believe they will receive 72 virgins in heaven, and they really want those virgins, they will do what they think is necessary to achieve them.
Similarly, if christian terrorists believe they will be rewarded with special accommodations next to Jesus in heaven, they will do what they think is necessary to achieve that.
