Reading a book at summer job?

I'm working at a pool this summer. I work at the front desk and check people's ids. Do you think it would be okay for me to bring a book to work and read when there's no one entering the pool? It is an 8 hour shift by the way so I get bored easily.

Ask your employer, after you're there for a few days, and have learned the procedures. It is likely your customers are coming at any time, although busy times are likely. Your boss would probably not object, especially if you're able to put the book down immediately, and/or immediately recognize when a customer comes in.

P.S. "The Yoga of Nutrition;" "Tree Shepherd's Daughter" trilogy; "For Couples Only;" "Love and Sexuality" by Omraam Aivanhov.

youll find that very few employers appreciate an employee displaying they have absolutely nothing to do aside from relax

my advice would be .. find something constructive to do rather than read a novel
