Start on 600cc motorcycle???
I never rode motorcycle before i took brc class.the basic riders course is a 3 day course where we ride 2 out of 3 days for about 8 hrs each day.all bikes at brc were 250cc.that the only motorcycle experience i have but got the hang of it i felt pretty quick and passed and got my m2 endorsment.now i live in va and was looking at bikes.i was looking at ninja 300 but my dad said scince i took the brc course i should start off on 600cc.im not talking about a supersport.just regular 600cc street bike.where i live i could get a 09 600cc bike cheaper than i could get a used 300cc bike.so my dad said i should just go ahead and start on 600cc so i wont get bored of 300 in a month or two. I also have alot of highway driving where flow of traffic is often 85+ mph in morning where theres little traffic.im 20 years old with 3+ year car experence if that makes difference.what you guys think about starting on 600 scince i did brc.now im not overcondifdent in my ability as i am a new rider and i know a bike will respect you as long as you respect it.i dont have money to buy several bikes but if weather is bad that day i can just get a ride with my dad because we work at same place.any input of yalls thoughts on this would be helpfull.thanks

Well first of all, congrats on getting your M2. Welcome to the club!
I think If you can handle a 250, a 600-650 is not that much bigger/heavier. The problem with a supersport is not the size it is but the kind of bike it is. But I think a 600cc 'standard' or 'sport tourer' would be fine to learn on. (Though apparently I'm a in the minority here among the question-answering regulars). A Yamaha Fz6R or Suzuki SV650 or Honda CB600 or Kawsaki Ninja 650, something like that.
If you don't mind cruisers, they have some advantages for starter-outers. Honda Shadow 750, Suzuki Boulevard S40 (aka 'Suzuki Savage') something like that would be good. They're more stable, easier to ride, lower center of gravity, plus they support a more relaxed, laid-back riding style that will keep you alive longer.

What kind of 600? If I like it I'll let you get one. It doesn't sound like a bad idea, but remember a 600cc bike like you describe will be good for 130mph. You will be Ok if you ride with your head and not your testosterone. A three day training course will introduce you to the fundamentals of bike riding but as anything, it takes years of experience to become truly competent.

If you get bored of a 300cc bike in a month or two then you aren't doing it right.
But before you get a 600 (which means little without the engine configuration), check out the insurance costs.
