Should Bob Dylan apologize to our generation for his horrible music?

This man was a horrible no talent musician. His caterwauling was an assault on the ears. He was a frightful sight to look at. The crap he produced is a stain on himself and our generation. Come on people. Consign this man's music to the ash heap of cultural history.

Apologize for what? Bob Dylan made great music. Should Bach and Mozart apologize for making music in the beginning? Every generation has their own popular music......if it wasn't for the 'firsts' or 'beginners' there would be NO music today.

Did you see that interview with him in which he claimed that he'd sold his soul to the Devil? He didn't say "devil." He said, "Uh, you know, the guy in charge." I have to give him a little bit of credit for having written a few good songs, but the man's been made into a deity, which I never understood. People have actually named their children after him! As for an apology, if he were to apologize, then thousands of other entertainers would have to do the same ... and that would make a 12-hour-long documentary which no one would want to watch anyway ...

Bob Dylan's value certainly was NOT in his voice .. but in his songs that he wrote. He was a clarion call for the social change in the 60's.

Perhaps this was lost on you, or you just don't handle abstract concepts very well..

Good Job we all don`t have the same taste in music or there would not be many performers left to entertain us.

I loved Dylan's style and music.

Compared to today's utter rubbish called music he is a genius. JMO.

I never listened to Dylan because I couldn't stand to listen to him sing - as a result I never listened to his message which, I understand, spoke to a lot of people. He must have had a powerful message because he is still much admired to this day. I think I can say that someone such as myself is in no position to judge the man and his work for that reason.

Heck no. It's obvious that he can't really sing but his songs are wonderful. Lots of popular "singers" can't really sing. Johnny Cash. Taylor Swift (although she has gotten better). It's about the songs, not the singing.

PS He HAS apologized over the years for his lack of voice.

He is definitely no Kanye West. And for that, I thank the Almighty God above. The man's music spoke up for people whose voice could be heard, just not listened to. His music at times made absolutely no sense to me and yet that never seemed to bother me.

Dylan might not have had the best voice, but he spoke for a generation. His lyric poetry

said it all. Why not listen with your soul and not merely as a music critic?

Millions of people loved him and still do.

    Who is Bob Dylan?

Dylan's music & lyrics were his expression of the times. Consider today's music and lyrics and then figure who needs apologizes for which generation.
