If I pay off my Samsung phones on Verizon Wireless, does that void the contract? My contract doesn't expire till October 2017.?

No, any phone your making installment payment on with any carrier if you pay off the phone, you pay off the phone and that monthly charge stops. Those are considered no contracts with Verizon, if you pay off the phones you can do whatever you want. You go to a month to month no strings attached plan.

No read the contract, thats why its called a contract! Then call Verizon! The odds are that you will have to pay an amount equivalent to what you would have paid from now until October 2017 - so you might as well stick with it!

The get out would be if the service they are providing is, due to their actions (not yours), substantially different from that which you have paid for!
