Yes that's totally unlawful and unethical. There usually is a reason.

Yes, I think it is wrong to fire employees for no reason. Unfortunately many jobs are considered "at will" jobs, meaning that they can fire an employee without notice and for no reason. It is also supposed to mean that the employee can quit without notice for no reason and it is not supposed to be a black mark on their record.

Yeah. Might even be illegal.
You must honor the contract. If a company can fire an employee for no reason then an employee probably also has no reason to honor the company.

Depends on how patient an employer is with their people. But they shouldn't do it without a legit enough reason, and "I just don't like so and so" isn't one of them, as many times as I've seen it happen.
