What could be causing my frequent sleep paralysis?

I know what usually causes it, but I tend to get it frequently, and I also have an odd thing where sometimes I'll wake up because I had some kind of hallucination of someone calling my name in an angry voice, so I was wondering if maybe there's some kind of neurological or psychological or something disorder I should consider getting myself checked out for.

I knew someone on here would say something like schizophrenia lol. No one on here is in the position to diagnose anyone, period. I don't see anything abnormal in your description. That happens to me a lot, I personally know I'm a very anxious person and I have insomnia, and insomnia brings on other sleep problems. If you have anxiety, your brain is always alert, it's ready to react. That might be why you hear things that aren't there that wake you up, it happens to me all the time. You are not crazy, don't listen to the teenagers who think anytime someone hears something odd it's schizophrenia related haha

Hmmm. from what I hear it sounds like you may be slightly Schizo-Effective. If it is actually effecting the way you live I would suggest seeing someone, but treatments are often slim. If it comes with sleep paralysis it may also be a sign of something more serious and seeing a doctor may help you find out if it is physical or mental problem so that you can take the necessary steps to fix it. Good luck. You should see someone soon! If money is a problem I would suggest applying for a health insurance because a mental issue will be much more costly then a physical one.
