My comedy club is being threatened with legal action because we use the word "Rabbit" in our title? PLEASE HELP?
In 2015 I opened “The Rabbit Hole Comedy Club”, in a side room of a pub called, lets say “Jimmy Rabbitts” (2 T’s)
We moved venue recently and kept our name, but the previous pub owner is threatening legal action unless we remove “Rabbit” (one T) from our name.
We are both separate entities. The comedy club used a room in their pub, but was never legally associated with it.
We are called Rabbit Hole, after the animal, and they are Jimmy Rabbitts, rabbitt as the last name.
Legally do they have a case?

The legal standard is likelihood of the public confusing the businesses. This is an inherently subjective issue. Thy have an argument, but they may or may not win.
Note: Neither Elaine M or DeMoNsLaYeR575 have a clue about how trademark laws work. Elaine doesn't even seem to realize that it is the Pub, NOT your current landlord, that objects.

The issue is that the name seems to be associated with the bar, which they do not agree to. Either change the name of your club or go elsewhere. The building owner has made their wishes very clear.
Calling it a bunny hole is not a fix either. Fox hole may work though.
