Cracked screen worth replacing?

I have a Magnavox Smart Tv....42" (I believe). My nephew threw a toy and hit it this weekend, cracking the screen.

Would it be worth replacing the screen? I have read that a replacement would cost just as much as a new TV, but I wanted to ask for opinions here.

I hate the thought of tossing out a TV that works perfect.

    Sadly, that is life in the 21st century (and nobody sells second-hand screens, so you can ignore khalil's answer...).

    ask repairmen for a used one ....maybe a tv was broken down but its screen is good ...
